Did you know that we 💨breathe between 5 to 6 liters of air per minute, isn’t that incredible?🆒

The lungs and respiratory system allow us to breathe. They allow 🌈oxygen to enter our bodies throught the inspiration or inhalation, and expel carbon dioxide throught exhalation). 🌳

This exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide is called “breathing”.✨

When we inhale, we activate the sympathetic state (the fight or flight system)💥. When we exhale, we activate the parasympathetic state (the calm and serene system).😚

Breathing is a natural part of life, we don’t stop to think about it, and it just flows naturally and sustains our alive. 🌞

As we do not normally observe our breathing, it is difficult to know if it is deep lower and restorative breathing, or we do it with the upper part of the lungs, being a superficial breathing.

If we breathe with the lower zone, we achieve relaxation🧘 automatically by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Deep breathing is essential whenever we are stressed or angry, we are advised to take deep breaths.

This simple technique that I am going to share is called 🗳️BOX breathing which I use whenever I notice that my breathing shortens and anxiety sets in.

🗳️Box breathing is a simple relaxation technique that brings breathing back to its normal rhythm. It is an exercise that clears the mind, promotes greater concentration and relaxes the body🎈. It is therefore recommended for people with a lot of stress😤.

I hope it helps you as much as it does me.✨
